U iščekivanju raspleta oko tokijske manifestacije, ovo izdanje „Olimpa“ uz ostalo donosi i razgovor s nekadašnjim vaterpolskim vratarom, jednim od najuspješnih hrvatskih športaša Josipom Pavićem, danas posebnim savjetnikom Nikoline Brnjac, ministrice turizma i sporta.
Dear readers,
we continue witnessing this extraordinary situation that dramatically affected and changed the lives and life flows of all of us. It’s been a year that abnormal is normal. A series of economic activities slowed down, some even jeopardized, and sport was not bypassed either. It is helped in many ways and from all levels to keep it alive. That is why we are encouraged knowing that, despite everything, sports competitions are still held. We are motivated by the perseverance of all sports stakeholders to resist and fight the epidemic and that sports - once again, I don't know which time - shows us and proves that it is indestructible, that it can survive, that it can keep up. The format of the Tokyo Olympics is also uncertain. It seems likely and more and more real that the largest sports competition on our planet will be held without the presence of spectators, with restriction of the number of accompanying persons, journalists and photojournalists, without sponsors’ representatives... What we truly want in any case is for the Olympics to take place, because this will be another proof that the Olympic Games can not only stop wars, but also at least somewhat "cover up" the global danger that looms over the entire world. In anticipation of unravelling of the Tokyo event, this edition of "Olimp" brings, among other things, a conversation with the former water polo goalkeeper, one of the most successful Croatian athletes, Josip Pavić, today special advisor to Nikolina Brnjac, Minister of Tourism and Sports. We also remind you of the handball legend Goran Perkovac, and on our pages you can get to know Zrinka Ljutić, a young skier to whom the experts are announcing a great career. This is only a small part of the rich contents in the spring edition of our and your magazine, with the hope that in the next issue, the one in late June, we will brightly announce the upcoming start of the Summer Olympics in Japan. And that by that time - of course - COVID-19 will be beaten in the greatest part. And until then, take care of yourself and stay well. ■ 5 ■ OLIMP
