„Paradoks rodne ravnopravnosti“, samo su neki u kojima ovaj vrsni romanopisac i športski dužnosnik propitkuje pitanja ravnopravnosti spolova i ženskog potencijala u športu i društvu općenito. Nagradu HAZU-a , dobitnicima je uručena 30. travnja, a u ime svih nagrađenih biranim riječima zahvalio se upravo Ratko Cvetnić kojemu i mi, u ime svih autora i članova uredništva „Olimpa“, upućujemo iskrene čestitke.

Stojko Vranković izabran za člana Upravnog odbora Fibe

Aktualni predsjednik Hrvatskog košarkaškog saveza Stojko Vranković, trostruki olimpijac i nositelj dvaju srebrnih olimpijska odličja (Seul i Barcelona) izabran je u svibnju ove godine za člana Upravnog odbora Fibe, krovne udruge europske košarke. Stojko Vranković je nakon bivšeg predsjednika HKS-a Borisa Lalića i pokojnog glavnog tajnika Željka Drakšića, treći hrvatski predstavnik u ovom upravljačkom tijelu košarkaškog udruženja koja ima velike ovlasti u kreiranju strategije i razvoja europske košarke.

Hrvatskom zboru sportskih novinara dodijeljena Povelja Republike Hrvatske

Predsjednica Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović dodijelila je prigodom proslave Dana državnosti, Hrvatskom zboru sportskih novinara Povelju Republike Hrvatske. Uručivši Povelju, predsjednica je izrazila uvjerenje da će osim priznanja za učinjeno u burnih 7o godina djelovanja HZSN-a (osnovan u Zagrebu 1949.) ono biti poticaj u budućem radu športskih novinara i razvoju športskog novinarstva u Hrvatskoj. Spomenimo da je Hrvatski zbor sportskih novinara u travnju ove godine svečano proslavio obljetnicu uručenjem nagrada zaslužnim članovima i posebnim izdanjem knjige „70 godina, a još se bavi sportom…“ na čijim su stranicama zabilježene bitne činjenice o utjecaju i postignućima ovog udruženja. Povelju Republike Hrvatske primio je predsjednik HZSN-a Jura Ozmec s najbližim suradnicima, članicom Izvršnog odbora Ivanom Lukačić-Krajina i glavnim tajnikom Marijanom Bakićem.

Hrvatsko-korejski doprinos promociji taekwondoa

Croatian-Korean contribution to the taekwondo promotion A five-member sports and diplomatic delegation from South Korea, led by the Special Envoy of the Korean Minister of Culture, Tourism and Sports Shin Kinam, visited the Croatian Olympic Committee on May 23rd. Their host, President Zlatko Mateša, received the guests accompanied by the Head of the Korean-Croatian Business Club Zoran Horvat and former taekwondoka, coach and eminent taekwondo officer Tamara Pradegan. The main motif of the reception, attended also by the Croatian Ambassador to South Korea Damir Kušen, was the wish of the World Taekwondo Federation from Seoul to use, as efficient as possible, the fact that the city of Rijeka was selected to be the next European Capital of Culture during Olympic year’s 2020. On this occasion, the World Taekwondo Federation signed the Agreement on Cooperation with the University of Rijeka. The South Korean guests highlighted that they are monitoring all the successes of Croatian male and female taekwondokas at large international competitions and honored the fact that Martina Zubčić and Sandra Šarić (Beijing Olympics 2008) and Lucija Zaninović (London Olympics 2012) won bronze medals. Stojko Vranković elected a member of the FIBA Europe Board Current President of the Croatian Basketball Federation Stojko Vranković, triple Olympian and holder of two Olympic silver medals (Seoul and Barcelona), was elected on Sunday a member of the FIBA Europe Board, umbrella organization of the European basketball. After the former President of the Croatian Basketball Federation Boris Lalić and the late Secretary General Željko Drakšić, Stojko Vranković is only the third Croatian representative in the governing body of this basketball organization with great authorizations in creating the strategy and development of the European basketball. Celebration of the International Olympic Day Birthday celebration (June 23rd) of the modern Olympic Movement, the International Olympic Day, under the slogan “Move, Learn and Discover” has been marked in Croatia with a series of sports activities, educational workshops and presentations, organized by the Croatian Olympic Academy and the Croatian Olympic Committee’s Office for Sports Programs at the Local Level. The celebration of the International Olympic Day dedicated to mutual appreciation and understanding of diversities and cultures, as well as to responsibility in evaluation and protection of natural heritage, was concluded by the Jarun Lake race named Olympic Day Run that was organized in Croatia for the first time and involved hundreds of runners. The race ambassadors, Olympian and top tennis player Ana Konjuh, double silver Olympian rower Damir Martin (London and Rio) and golden Olympian from Rio Josip Glasnović actively supported the project believing in its basic message – it is important to practice!
