Proslava Olimpijskog dana HOO-a ima za zadaću promociju ideje svjetskog pokreta među najmlađima, a pod sloganom - Pokreni se, uči i otkrij! Proslavi je posvećena i završnica prvenstva športskih društava osnovnih i srednjih škola Hrvatske, koje se održalo od 30. travnja do 3. svibnja 2013. u Poreču, inače gradu-partneru HOO-a. Hrvatski športski muzej u suradnji s Hrvatskim školskim sportskim savezom organizirao je za djecu osnovnih i srednjih škola desetak radionica na temu “Pierre de Coubertin - utemeljitelj MOO i obnovitelj modernih olimpijskih igara”, a u spomen na 150. godišnjicu njegova rođenja.
ZOI Soči 2014. sve bliže
Sochi Winter Olympics 2014 closer and closer Until the 22nd Winter Olympic Games which will be held from February 7th to 23rd 2014 in the town of Sochi, situated in the beautiful surroundings of the Russian region of Krasnodar, there are a little bit more than two hundred days left. Sochi will host around 2.800 participants from 80 countries, and the Games will be broadcasted by a number of media which will include, for the first time at the Winter Olympics, our Sports Television, founded by the COC. In the group of Top Olympic candidates is Ivica Kostelic, one of the best Croatian athletes of all times, the winner of three Olympic silver medals in alpine skiing. At the Winter Olympics he performed three times in Salt Lake City in 2002, in Turin in 2006 (where he won the first Croatian Olympic medal in the men’s competition at the Winter Games in general), and in Vancouver in 2010, where he won two silver medals. In group A of potential Olympic candidates there are two alpine skiers and one snowboarder. These are Natko Zrncic - Dim and Dalibor Samsal that is Anja Stefan. The list of potential B Olympic candidates is somewhat broader. From a total of 18 candidates most of them are alpine skiers. These are: Sofija Novoselic, Sasa Trsinski, Andrea Komsic, Filip Zubcic, Matej Vidovic, Istok Rodes (alpine skiing), Andrej Buric, Nina Broznic, Edi Dadic, Vedrana Malec (cross country), Morena Makar (snowboard), Zvonimir Tadejevic, Jurica Veverec, Dino Butković (biathlon), Daria Obratov (sleighing), Igor Maric, Mate Mezulic, Drazen Silic (bobsleigh). Do 22. zimskih olimpijskih igara koje će se održati od 7. do 23. veljače 2014 u gradu Sočiju, smještenom u prekrasnom ambijentu ruske regije Krasnodar, nešto je više od dvjestotinjak dana. Soči će ugostiti oko 2800 natjecatelja iz 80-ak zemalja, a Igre će pratiti brojni mediji među kojima će, prvi put na Zimskim olimpijskim igrama, biti i naša Sportska televizija, čiji je osnivač HOO. U skupini Top olimpijskog kandidata, jedan je od najboljih hrvatskih športaša svih vremena Ivica Kostelić, osvajač triju olimpijskih srebrnih medalja u alpskom skijanju. Na ZOI je nastupio tri puta: u Salt Lake Cityju 2002., u Torinu 2006. (gdje je osvojio prvo hrvatsko olimpijsko odličje u muškoj konkurenciji na zimskim igrama uopće) te u Vancouveru 2010., gdje je osvojio još dva srebrna odličja. U skupini potencijalnih A olimpijskih kandidati dva su alpska skijaša i jedna snowboardašica. To su Natko Zrnčić-Dim i Dalibor Šamšal odnosno Anja Štefan. More than 800 students from elementary schools from all over the Croatia, hundreds of leaders, teachers, parents, and two hundred children-fans and admirers of school sports, celebrated on May 28th, 2013, in Sports and Recreational Center Mladost in Zagreb, the International Olympic Day, dedicated to the celebration of the Olympic idea and values of the global sports community. They were supported by the top-sports and Olympic athletes: Dubravko Simenc, Karlo Stipanic, Ninoslav Saraga, Martina Zubcic, Ratko Rudic, Stjepan Deveric, Josip Pavic, Damir Martin, Martin Sinkovic, Mihovil Nakic, Igor Boraska and Danira Bilic, who was also the coordinator of the celebration of the Olympic day 2013 By demonstrating sporting skills at the 6th Days of Universal school sports school organized by the Croatian School Sports Federation (in cooperation with the Croatian Olympic Academy and the Croatian Olympians Club), the students showed not only sporting excellence, but also an extraordinary joy of companionship, friendship and mutual respect. The celebration of COC’s Olympic day has the task of promoting the idea of worldwide movement among the youngest, under the slogan – Get moving, learn and discover! The finals of Croatian elementary and high schools’ sports federations championship, held on April 30th, 2013 in Porec, the town-partner of the COC, were dedicated to the celebration. The Croatian Sports Museum, in cooperation with the Croatian Olympic Academy, organized a workshop on the theme “Pierre de Coubertin founder of the IOC and the restorer of the modern Olympic Games”, in memory of the 150th anniversary of his birth.
