Od Olimpa dO dO Olimpa Knežević iz Jutarnjeg lista, za komentar Iva Perdec-Augustić iz Vjesnika, a za intervju Tomo Ničota iz Sport plusa. Godišnja nagrada za fotografiju pripala je Antoniju Broniću iz Pixsella, Novinarka Milena Dragišić nagrađena je za praćenje malih športova, a Blaž Duplančić je dobio priznanje za izdavaštvo. Priznanja za lokalne medije te za najbolji press-centar dodijeljene su redakciji karlovačke TV 4 rijeke odnosno Hrvatskom vaterpolskom savezu za press-centar Europskog prvenstva u vaterpolu.
Oštro protiv nepropisnog i nezakonitog klađenja u športu Pod predsjedavanjem predsjednika MOO-a Jacquesa Rogga u Lausanni je 1. ožujka održan sastanak radne skupine na temu nezakonitog i nepropisnog klađenja, koje je, kako je naglasio Rogge, postalo prava „pošast“ i ozbiljna prijetnja svjetskom športu. Iz tih je razloga Rogge okupio ne samo predstavnike nacionalnih olimpijskih odbora, već i ministre brojnih zemalja, članove Interpola, Ujedinjenih naroda, udruženja međunarodnih saveza i predstavnika MOO-a. O ovom problemu MOO je poduzeo niz mjera već prije pet godina i od tada ima aktivnu ulogu. Među njima je i dopuna Etičkog kodeksa MOO-a 2006. kojim je zabranjeno klađenje na olimpijskim natjecanjima svim sudionicima olimpijskih igara. Poduzete su i druge mjere za podizanje svijesti javnosti o tom problemu, očuvanje integriteta olimpijskih igara i športa općenito te jačanje suradnje s partnerima unutar i izvan olimpijskog pokreta. O tome predsjednik MOO-a Jacques Rooge obavijestio je svjetsku javnosti i posebnim priopćenjem kojeg je HOO objavio na www.hoo.hr i u Sportskim novostima.
Jura Ozmec, the first editor-inchief of Sports Television Based on the decision of the Program Committee on February 21st, the prominent sports journalist and commentator, Jura Ozmec, was appointed editor-inchief of Sports Television. Jura Ozmec, who himself used to be an active athlete, has been President of the Croatian Sports Journalist Association (Hrvatski zbor sportskih novinara - HZNS) since 2003 and a member of the Croatian Journalists Association’s (Hrvatsko novinarsko drustvo - HND) Central Committee and from 2006-2010 he was the Vice -president of the European Union of sports journalists (UEPS). From 1987 to 2011 he worked in the sports program of HTV (Croatian Television) performing numerous responsible functions - journalist/ reporter, editor and host of sport and news programs and HTV programs. Croatian athletes at the 10th Winter EYOF Liberec 2011 The tenth Winter Olympic Festival of European Youth Liverec (Czech Republic), held from the 12th -19th of February 2011, brought together 1055 young athletes from 44 countries and the competition program had eight sports: alpine and Nordic skiing, cross country skiing, ski jumping, biathlon, snowboarding, figure skating and ice hockey. The Croatian athletes, 11 of them, competed in cross country skiing (where there were at most, four of them), three in the biathlon and two in figure skating and alpine skiing. The benefits that the host Liberec, the Liberec region and the Czech Olympic Committee, under the patronage of the EOC, provided for the young athletes is the essence of fellowship and solidarity of a movement such as world Olympism. The Croatian athletes did not win any medals, but they did acquire knowledge and experience that make them who they are in the world of solidarity, fair-play, friendship and experience which are especially precious for their personal as well as social growth.
