Shelters to Shutters

Our teams believe in giving back to our communities and making a positive impact on the lives of those around us. Hawthorne is excited to announce our new partnership with Shelters to Shutters, a nonprot organization that’s dedicated to providing employment, housing, and career training to individuals in the homeless community.

Shelters to Shutters was founded in 2014 by Chris Finlay who recognized the need to address homelessness in surrounding communities. Since then, the program has grown signicantly and provided housing and employment opportunities to numerous individuals across the country. Shelters to Shutters’ approach to ending homelessness is unique and effective. It provides a comprehensive program that includes not only housing but also employment and career training services. This approach helps individuals rebuild their lives and create a sustainable path to a brighter future. The program has a rigorous screening and training process to ensure that its clients are ready to transition into the workforce and successfully maintain stable housing. Shelters to Shutters has partnered with over 35 apartment owners and operations, including Hawthorne, to provide stable housing and a path to a brighter future for those who need it the most.

We’re honored to be a part of such a special initiative, and we are committed to their mission to not only provide homes but also be a beacon of hope to those who need it the most. Through this partnership, our teams are working to make a meaningful impact in the lives of those who have been adversely affected by homelessness and empower them to achieve a brighter future.
