2019 Annual Meeting of the Hawaii Pacific Baptist Convention

Held at OLIVET BAPTIST CHURCH, Honolulu, November 7-8, 2019

Our theme Scripture: Acts 16:9-10

During the night Paul had a vision of a man of Macedonia standing and begging him, “Come over to Macedonia and help us.” After Paul had seen the vision, we got ready at once to leave for Macedonia, concluding that God had called us to preach the gospel to them.

Our annual meeting speakers:

Dr. Paul Chitwood President International Mission Board

Dr. Paul Chitwood is the president of the International Mission Board (IMB). Previously he served as executive director of the Kentucky Baptist Convention and for 18 years prior to that, served as the pastor of local churches of varying sizes in Kentucky. His overseas short-term mission involvement includes work in South America, Asia, Europe, and Africa. A native of Jellico, Tenn., Chitwood is a 1992 graduate of Cumberland College and earned the Master of Divinity and Ph.D. from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.

Dr. Steve Irvin President Hawaii Pacific Baptist Convention

Dr. Steve Irvin has been the pastor of Pali View since 1996. Steve also pastored churches on Maui, in Honolulu, and California. He received both his Masters and Doctorate from Gateway Seminary and a B.A. in Communications from the University of Hawaii. Steve and his wife, Lola, have been married for 35 years and have three children, Stephanie, Nathaniel, and Jeremy.

Chris Martin Executive Director/Treasurer Hawaii Pacific Baptist Convention

Chris Martin is the Executive Director/Treasurer of the Hawaii Pacific Baptist Convention. Chris has served as a pastor in Hawaii (Lahaina Baptist), Louisiana, Florida. Chris received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Louisiana/Monroe, and his Master of Divinity degree from the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. Chris is married to Wendy. They have 2 grown children and two grandchildren.
