PHOTOGRAPHY

Most photographers, however, will be happy to reflect your preferences. If you’re all about the relaxed snaps but the grandparents want some posed family shots for the mantlepiece, they can make it happen. A growing trend, first look photos record the beautiful moment the father-ofthe-bride (or groom) see their child on the wedding morning – definitely something to cherish. Now, couples are jumping on the bandwagon and meeting with their snapper to sneakily shoot their first reaction to one another in their finery before they do it all over again with an audience at the ceremony – very romantic.

Catching specific moments Want to make your wedding day photos stand out? Then add your personality! Brainstorm with your photographer and if you have specific ideas, let them know. Share your order of service with them to ensure they’re in the right place at the right time (and if your venue is off the beaten track, provide directions!), and divulge as many other details of the wedding as possible, to help them get to know you and get some inspo. Going for group shots? Whether it’s formal with specific family members or funky bridal party ones, supply your snapper with a list in advance. And, if possible, get a member of your squad to summon those required as and when – it’ll be a great time saver. At the other end of the scale, if there are any parts of the wedding day you don’t want to relive in photo form – perhaps you’re feeling ultra-nervous about the first dance and flashes throughout will only add to it – let them know. It’s all about good communication! www.grampianweddingdirectoy.co.uk
