Foster A. Hoch
Portfolio
Introduction
Hello,
I am Foster Hoch and this is my portfolio. I have been the Creative Director for the New York State Democratic Committee since January 2023. I started at the New York State Democratic Party in April of 2021 as a party affairs intern, and then was hired full time as the Creative Coordinator in November of 2021.
A majority of the work inside of this portfolio was used in the 2022 New York Gubernatorial Election for (D) Governor Kathy Hochul, who beat (R) Lee Zeldin by 5 points. During the election I often found myself collaborating with the Governors campaign on a multitude of projects, from social hits, logo variants, graphics for video trucks, motion graphics for events, and anything in-between.
After the election was over, I was offered to stay on as the Creative Director for the NYSDC, which is where you will see recent “off-year” work. The larger projects involve the conceptualization branding and execution of our weekly Newsletter, the branding and web page of our new Voter Protection program, and a few one off projects for the Governors campaign.
I hope you enjoy the work and portfolio I have put together. My contact information will be in the closing pages of this portfolio if you would like to reach out for any reason. Thank you.
Best,

The “Weekly” is the New York State Democratic Committee’s newsletter that is sent to 60,000+ subscribers every Friday. Informing Democrats across New York on how the President, Governor, Senators, Congressional Democrats, County Committees, and more are delivering around the state.

With simple branding and its compact and easy to read layout the “Weekly” is credited as one of the biggest and most well received initiatives the Committee has undertaken.

The NYDLC and The NYSDC collaborated for the 2024 Election to create the first of its kind Voter Protection program. With this collaboration a new subtle brand identity had to be crafted to showcase the new partnership and launch the new web-page, alongside branding for a launch event with the Governor.
