CIRCA 1939, brown leather, hand-tooled saddle with full tack trimmed in silver and inlaid with gold having silver front and silver rope entwined round swells. The silver horn cap is topped with rope edge concha and gold horse head with ruby eye.
This saddle was custom made for S. Rae Hickok by Nolte-Olsen, San Francisco, California. Stephen Rae Hickok was the founder of Hickok Manufacturing Co., Rochester, New York. Hickok Manufacturing Co. created the famous jewel encrusted “Hickok Belt,” which was awarded to top professional athletes from the 1959-1976. Seat 15 inches.
