Highfields Parents, Teachers & Friends Association

The Highfields Parents, Teachers & Friends Association (PTFA) is a voluntary group of parents/carers, teachers and friends who meet approximately six times per year to plan fundraising events for the benefit of the school and all of its students.

Being part of the PTFA is a good way of meeting other parents/carers, gaining an insight into what is happening at school, and having a say on how the money we raise is spent. The PTFA have raised funds for a wide variety of projects around school including buying new sports equipment for the PE department, a video camera for the dance and drama departments, books for the school libraries and to support the lower school lunchtime cookery clubs.

The PTFA is friendly group and most of the meetings are held at Designate@The Gate on Smedley Street in Matlock, over a cup of tea and a slice of cake. The PTFA particularly welcome new members, with fresh ideas, to join meetings. If you would like to get involved, either on the committee or as a volunteer at events, please email ptasecretary@highfields.derbyshire.sch.uk for more information, or leave your details in an envelope, labelled 'for the PTFA', at the school office on either site. The PTFA also has a page on the school website detailing dates of next meetings, events, important news etc.

Our first meeting of the year is a social event to welcome everyone back and to meet anyone that is interested in getting involved. This will be taking place on Thursday 30 September at 6.30pm at Designate on Smedley Street.

The PTFA appreciate the support given and look forward to welcoming you to their next meeting

Liz Cruise (Chair) Highfields PTFA
