Associate Directors Taylor Ashburn Union Bank & Trust Co. Taylor Ashburn is the Manager of the Construction Loan Department and the Residential Real Estate Lending Department for Union Bank and Trust Company. Union Bank has been a member of HBAL since 1989 and is proud to finance new homes in and around Lincoln. Taylor has been in banking for 13 years and is involved in several organizations, including Matt Talbot Kitchen & Outreach (Board Member), St. Michael Catholic Church, and the Lincoln Young Professionals Group. Taylor and his wife, Cara, have three children, Jonathan (6 years), Nicholas (3 years) and Cecilia (18 months). He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Nebraska and has been a resident of Lincoln his entire life. Growing up, he was exposed to the building industry by his uncle, Sam Manzitto, Sr. He has fond memories as a child of going to the Home & Garden Show, as well as touring the Parade of Homes. In his free time he enjoys golf, watching football and spending time with friends and family.

Ruth Hietbrink Black Hills Energy Ruth has been employed with Black Hills Energy since 1996. In 2012, she was promoted to Customer Relations Representative for Black Hills Energy and is the builder contact for the Black Hills Energy Southeast Nebraska residential territory, including Lincoln. Ruth has been an HBAL member for eleven years, serving as a member of HBAL’s Board of Directors, Remodelers Council, HBAL Golf Committee, Remodelers Golf Committee, Parade of Homes Committee, and participated in the Santa Cop Project. Ruth received the HBAL participation award in 2013. Ruth has participated in the Chili Cook Off for several years and won second place two years and third place last year. Ruth is the president of the Johnson County American Legion Auxiliary, Vice President of Southeast Nebraska District 13 of the auxiliary and is also an active member of the Sterling Community Association and Deer Creek Sod Busters. She organizes the annual Sterling Car Show, which helps fund the local SKILLS USA class. Ruth also serves on the Board of Directors for The Friendship Home of Lincoln. Ruth likes to do community service, garden, cook, decorate and spend time with friends. She says there is not much time to do these activities as she is attending SCC-Lincoln and will graduate in 2015 with a A.A.S. in Business, and as a Certified Event Planner.

Tim Kenny Nebraska Investment Finance Authority (NIFA) Tim Kenny has served as Executive Director of the Nebraska Investment Finance Authority (NIFA) since 1994 and has held similar positions in Utah and Texas since 1987. He began his professional career as a CPA in an international firm of Certified Public Accountants. Later he was the Chief Financial

Officer for a firm with homebuilding, real estate development and recreation/resort projects in Texas and Colorado. Kenny obtained his undergraduate degree in Accounting at the University of Texas at Austin and has completed public sector executive level training at Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government. Kenny is a longtime advocate of comprehensive development strategies. He brings to his work advocacy and interests in hunting, natural resources, homebuilding and community development. He served as a county planning commissioner and has a long and productive track record of collaborative work with Federal, State and Local agencies in all aspects of community development and finance. Kenny has been an active member of NAHB’s National Multifamily Board of Trustees, Housing Finance Committee and LIHTC Program Steering Committee. In addition, he is or has served as a member of the National Council of State Housing Agencies; Lincoln Public Schools Community Learning Centers Advisory Board; Nebraska Subprime Advisory Task Force; 10th Dist. Federal Reserve Bank Community Advisory Committee; Lincoln Rotary Club #14 Board of Directors; Board of Trustees and Finance Committee, Nebraska Chapter, Nature Conservancy; Summit County Utah Planning Commission and Nebraska Rural Development Commission.
