The growth in its popularity has been exponential and in part has ensured the rise in popularity of this event. With nearly 4000 participants in 2016 we expect an even larger number this year. The uniqueness of this event is what attracts a wide range of participants, especially the opportunity to swim around the Parliament building in the centre of Copenhagen. It makes it one of the world’s most unique swimming events available to all abilities”, said Pia Holmen Christensen, Director of the Danish Swimming Federation. Participants can choose to either swim the two km course solo or as part of a relay team (500 metres each) making it
