Women Darren Marjoram After all the highs of recent games, it’s another test in the league tonight against Doncaster and another opportunity for three valuable points. On behalf of everyone connected with the Women’s team, we wish Mark and the team the very best of luck. The Women’s team have enjoyed the winter league break over Christmas and then unfortunately had the eagerly anticipated game against Enfield postponed due to a waterlogged pitch on the first scheduled week of action in the New Year. It was disappointing, firstly because we had prepared well and were looking forward to the game, but also because we have been

very busy in the winter break, resulting in three new signings. Firstly, we have signed holding midfielder Rachel Kosky from Enfield, who has been one of their stand out players for some time. This is a big piece of the jigsaw that we have been looking to fill since Gisela Otten moved to centre back and I am delighted we now have Kosky on board. The next two players are ones who are returning to the Club. First we have striker Nicole Emmings who signs from Stevenage. Coley was with us a few seasons ago and had her best season in front of goal during that time. She knows how to find the net and will be an extremely valuable addition to our attacking options.

Finally, we have re-signed Amber Cantwell, who is an attacking midfield player with lots of pace and flair. Amber is well known to those who have followed the team in recent seasons and will provide competition for the creative heart of the team. We welcome all three players to the Club. The signing of these three players demonstrates the ambition we have to keep pushing forward and shows what an exciting time it is to be a U’s fan in every aspect! We have lots of exciting fixtures coming up, so we all hope to see a few new fans along to support, especially as Season Ticket Holders at the Abbey enjoy free admission. Enjoy the game and let’s get behind the lads! ■
