Keystone Automation designs and builds specialized automated machinery and robotics for advanced manufacturing. We work with several local colleges and trade schools to encourage the learning of skills that firms like ours need. We are seeing a shortage of young people going into this field and are working with the local schools to raise awareness and interest in the technical vocations. There is a misconception that factories are dark, dingy sweatshops. That couldn’t be further from the truth. Today’s manufacturing centers are vibrant, well lit and clean. The wages are very competitive, and brains, not brawn, are needed.

Since 1987, my family and I have enjoyed all the area has to offer, from the food and entertainment to the winding roads we ride our motorcycles on. Having spent many years traveling the world, I truly appreciate how great the people of this area are and understand how fortunate we are to be living here.

The Scranton Chamber presents many opportunities to create new business contacts and to meet like-minded individuals in our area. It was through the Chamber that I learned of the Leadership Lackawanna Executive Program, in which I subsequently enrolled. The Greater Scranton Chamber of Commerce really makes an effort to create an environment conducive to small business success. After spending some time in the accounting profession, I was offered an I.T. project management position at Sanofi Pasteur. It was a change for which I will always be thankful. Many years later, I shifted my focus to Iron-Tree Data Networks, a growing I.T. firm started by my husband after 20 years in the industry. We take pride in offering expert advice and customized I.T. solutions for other businesses in the greater Scranton area, at rates lower than those typically found in larger cities. Our employees are local residents who understand the value of customer service, and they strive to provide the very best. When it comes to technology, the only constant is change. The same can be said about managing a business. No two days are the same, and it keeps us on our toes. Iron-Tree Data provides us with new challenges and different perspectives, and we are proud to bring our experience to other businesses in the area, helping them to succeed as well.

Since Keystone Automation started in 1999, we have been involved with the Greater Scranton Chamber of Commerce. They have provided support from our startup right through where we are today. It is our belief that Northeastern PA has an exceptionally talented and motivated workforce, and the Chamber is the gateway to tell the world about these talented people, our local work ethic and the excellent quality of life we enjoy.
