Puerto Princesa Hammerhead Shark Swimming Team
Puerto Princesa Hammerhead Shark Swimming Team (PPHSST) was established in 2005. It catered to children of ordinary fisherfolks, government workers, tricycle drivers, and public school teachers who saw swimming as an after-school activity that kept kids productive while requiring minimal parental supervision. In almost two decades, PPHSST has produced a diverse roster of holistic swimmers that thrived in academics, arts, and athletics. Some of its alumni went on to compete nationally (UAAP and NCAA) and internationally (SEA Games and Asian Games) in swimming and other sports that require swimming skills. Its head coach Danilo Egot has a level 2 accreditation at the World Swimming Coaches Association (WSCA). Its chief trainer Jose Rosel is a graduate of Education from Rizal Technological University where he competed and was a multiple medalist at SCUAA, UNIGAMES, and NCRAA. His varsity stint from 2009 to 2013 won him the Athlete of the Year at his graduation.
