Dear Parents and Guardians,
It gives us enormous pleasure to welcome everyone to our inaugural joint sports day.
It is a hugely ambitious, and exciting, day for both schools and we are delighted that you are able to join us for the historic occasion. This is our largest collaborative event to date and one which promises to demonstrate the strength of our two schools.
Today showcases both our commitment to and the importance of sport in our Schools. All students will fully immerse themselves in the experience and play their part in competing for the newly created joint teams which unites both schools. Students will compete in at last two activities, striving to set personal bests and enjoying the chance to gain points for their joint team and supporting teammates new and old.
It will also provide a stage for our top performing athletes to showcase their skills across a wide range of traditional track and field events.
They have spent countless hours training and this dedication and resilience has rewarded them in multiple school records and successes
in The Herts League, Fraser Bird, District, County and National competitions over recent months. Our students have shown a great sense of collective unity in representing their schools and we want this event to encourage even more students to get involved.
Beyond the expected athletic events we will see competitors battle it out across the broad range of challenges presented with our in-field events; including the much heralded tug-of war contest, coming together during the lunch period to run in the community mile, before ending the day with a number of mixed relay events, including the inclusive squadron relay involving all year groups to conclude the events.
We have been blown away by the collective effort amongst our staff and students, thank you to everyone involved for going the extra mile to make today happen.
Now let the games commence and best of luck to everyone!

With well over 2000 people in attendance it is important that everyone pays careful attention to the details found within this programme, listen to announcements and follow instructions from staff. This will be particularly important when accessing participant areas. We encourage you to remain in the stands and enjoy the spectacle when not competing. There are clearly marked breakout areas should you wish to purchase food and drink or to take a short break.
Despite the thunderclouds and torrential downpours that swept across Jarman Park Athletics Stadium, the spirit of Habs shone brighter than ever at this year’s Hertfordshire County Athletics Championships. In a remarkable display of talent, determination, and teamwork, Habs Boys and Habs Girls combined forces to deliver one of the most successful athletics performances in our schools’ history—bringing home an astonishing 16 county medals.
This phenomenal achievement is a testament to the dedication and passion of our studentathletes, who have trained tirelessly throughout the year. Their resilience was especially evident as they competed through challenging weather conditions, showing true grit and sportsmanship.
