arbados-based G u y a n e s e Nekisha PrinceHaynes is hoping to leave her mark on the world through her efforts as an administrative service provider, motivational speaker and writer. This week's Special Person is a published author. Her book âYour Client is not Your Friend,â remains in the top 100 best sellers list on the online retail website, Amazon. In her book, PrinceHaynes offers practical advice to entrepreneurs and small business owners on how to use their resources to maximize their performance and output. Drawn from her own experiences, the young author and entrepreneur, teaches her clients how to navigate the tricky world of business and personal relations. In simple terms, PrinceHaynes says that her book spells out methods to avoid the pitfall of âmixing business with pleasure.â âIf you are anything like me; friendly and quick to empathize with people, they tend to take advantage of you. and was awarded a place at St. Johns College. She later attended the University of Guyana's Institute of Distance and Continuing Education. âI have two older brothers and one younger than I am. Given that my father was not a part of my life. My eldest brother Keon Smith filled that gap. Naturally I wanted to follow in his footsteps. I remember, while my brother was pursuing Accounting, I wanted to become an Accountant as well, which
meant I pursued many Accounting courses. Then he switched to Business Management, and guess what? I switched too.â Prince-Haynes said that her brother was later involved in public speaking and âso I wanted a career that involved that sort of thing.â The young author noted that her book has created the platform for her to do just that. âIt continues to open opportunities for me to share with the world. It has given me a platform to speak out publicly and educate people on how to effectively manage their business. So in a way I am also fulfilling my desire to teach.â SELF-MADE Though she considers herself a self-made businesswoman, PrinceâHaynes noted the people in her life that continue to motivate her. âMy close family members; my mom, my brother, husband and son continue to be a source of motivation.â Nonetheless she said, âI taught myself most of what I know and the rest I learnt from working with past

âI have clients from Barbados, Canada and New York. I am a virtual assistant. People hire me to do the bookings, make orders, write speeches, letters, proofreading material and other administrative tasks.â She explained that her work is similar to that of a personal assistant, only that (continued on page 47)
