Dr. April Ulmer aka “The Tummy Dr.”, is a Board Certified Pediatric Gastroenterologist who presently practices on the Gulf Coast of Mississippi. Dr. Ulmer is a native Mississippian who received her medical training at the University of Mississippi Medical Center and her post-graduate training at prestigious medical centers along the East Coast in cities including Washington, DC; Danville, Pennsylvania; and Buffalo, New York before ultimately returning to Mississippi to practice. In addition to being a dedicated physician, she is a loving and committed wife and mother to her 2 little girls. Dr. Ulmer describes herself as a physician who practices the art of “clinical medicine” with a “common sense” approach. She strives every day to treat each child and family as unique, and in a way that cares for and nurtures the “whole” child. Dr. Ulmer states, “I’m a mom, so when I hear concerns from the parents in my medical practice, I ‘get’ it. As parents, we work to ensure that our children have access to the best of everything, and that should extend to their medical care. As a pediatric gastroenterologist, my goal is to be the parents’ partner in the care of their children, and it’s Kids and Tummies’ mission to provide the best Pediatric GI care available.”
