--Rebecca Hofmann studied cultural anthropology, geography and Spanish philology at the University of Freiburg and in Seville, Spain. She graduated in 2008 with her final thesis on competitive resource strategies of Native Alaskans. As a member of the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research-funded project entitled “Research for the Sustainable Development of the Megacities of Tomorrow: Energy and Climate-efficient Structures in Urban Growth Centers,” she did research in Hyderabad, India on local food culture and its implications for sustainable lifestyles. Currently, Hofmann is part of the Climates of Migration project at the RCC and doing field research in Chuuk, FSM for her PhD thesis on “Perceptions of spatiality and mobility in a changing Micronesian climate.”
