Guided Cycle with LEAP

Thursday 7th July (evening) or Saturday 9th July (am). Join us for our guided cycle from Bridge of Weir Cycle Path to Johnstone Train Station. The Guided Cycle will take just over an hour and will be easy cycling on the flat cycle path. It is a chance for all participants to get to grips with this simple route and meet other people who are at a similar level. The guided cycle will be led by two cycling trainers from Canny Cycling. Dates are: Thursday 7th July (in the evening) or Saturday 9th July (am). Book Your Free Place Today! E-Bikes for Free Hire are available on a first come first served basis. Email lesley@ myleapproject.org or call 01505 612034 to book a place. Cycle for Summer Challenge Are you up for a fitness challenge? During July and August LEAP are asking local people to take part in its Cycle for summer challenge. All you have to do is register your interest and log your cycling miles with LEAP over a 4 - 6 week period between July and August this summer. You may wish to hire on a long term free loan one of our Electric Bikes or use your own bike. The aim is to challenge you to cycle and replace some of your car journeys where possible. Let LEAP know if you are interested in taking part in LEAP’s Cycle for Summer Challenge by contacting our team on 01505 612034 or 842530. People Pledges at Local Gala Days

Parking in Inverclyde Each of Inverclyde’s towns and villages have a variety of waiting and loading restrictions which are summarised in the links Provided. Wherever you park it is your responsibility to check the associated signs which advise how long you can park and whether a parking disc or a pay and display ticket is required. When parking in limited waiting parking bays in Greenock, Gourock and Kilmacolm’s ‘Parking Disc Zone’ you must place a parking disc in the windscreen to indicate your arrival time.

A huge thanks to everyone at the local Gala Days who pledged to ‘Take one action’. LEAP were on hand with free bee and butterfly friendly seeds, which many people pledged to plant. Visit our facebook page for more...

Parking discs are widely available free of charge from Council offices and a large number of shops locally. Please be sure to have a parking disc before you park. Parking Attendants will allow a short period of time to allow motorists to access discs, and are always happy to provide them if you approach the officer directly. It is important to note that it is your arrival time which must be displayed by the disc and that you may receive a PCN for changing the disc arrival time contravening the time permitted to park or if you alter the time of arrival once the original time has expired. The Documents link on this page titled ‘Council Car Parks’ will allow you to view a list of our car parks across Inverclyde including any charges or limits on how long you can stay and how many spaces are available. Charges and time limits apply all year round. Car parks are listed for towns and villages throughout Inverclyde. Visit www.inverclyde.gov.uk/environment/roads-lighting/parking-inverclyde/ parking-in-inverclyde for more information.
