While crowds descend on Grand Haven during the summer, most people head towards the beach and downtown, but tucked a little bit further back, on 7th Street, is one of the culinary gems of the lakeshore. I’ve spent my summers in Grand Haven since before I can remember and I always come to Righteous Cuisine on Taco Tuesday, where when you buy two of any tacos on the menu you get one smoked chicken, pork butt, or vegan taco for free, which is one of the better deals going anywhere around. The restaurant itself is small with a robust take-out business, just a few tables inside, and overflow picnic tables and regular tables outside, with the vibes relaxed, casual, and on point. It’s a place that is, in the end, about one thing: good food. I came with one human dining partner and one furry one and we started with the brisket quesadilla which was fantastic, then we each ordered two tacos and got a third free for the Taco Tuesday special. 30
