Fennville Goose Festival — Oct. 9-11
Fennville’s Goose Festival returns Oct. 9-11, continuing a hometown tradition that has brought the community together for decades. The festival began in 1985 as an effort to encourage Amtrak to restore a stop in Fennville, but it quickly became a celebration of its own. Highlights include the Goose Market, food trucks, the annual parade, the Wild Goose Chase 5K, Gosling Run and a car show. Young entrepreneurs can take part in the Gosling Market, where vendors age 17 and younger can sell handmade crafts, artwork, jewelry and other creations.

Halloween in Saugatuck and Douglas is highlighted by the 28th Annual Douglas Halloween Parade for Adults on Oct. 31. The nighttime parade through downtown Douglas features elaborate costumes, creative characters and the giant Pumpkin King leading the procession down Center Street. Known for its welcoming atmosphere and spirited celebrations, the event draws visitors from throughout the region. The evening begins with the Cavern Tavern Pre-Party from 6–10 p.m. at Ox-Bow House, featuring art, drinks and live music from the Great Lakes Brass Band. Parade lineup begins at 9 p.m. near the Old School House, with the parade stepping off at 10 p.m. Visitors are encouraged to arrive early to enjoy the shops, restaurants and bars before the parade begins. A designated parking option is available at Saint Peter’s Catholic Church, 100 St. Peter Drive in Douglas. Many attendees also choose to park in Saugatuck and take the free Interurban shuttle to avoid downtown congestion. For shuttle details and event information, visit douglashalloween.com.
