Green Beret Foundation
The Green Beret Foundation (GBF) is a premier nonprofit organization dedicated to serving U.S. Army Special Forces Soldiers, their families, caregivers, and surviving loved ones. Since its founding in 2009, the Foundation has remained committed to addressing the distinctive needs of Green Berets by offering direct assistance and specialized programs that promote healing, resilience, and long-term success. Headquartered in Southern Pines, North Carolina, the Green Beret Foundation continues to uphold its mission of honoring the service and sacrifices of America’s most elite warriors while ensuring that they and their families receive the care and recognition they deserve. The Foundation was established by Aaron Anderson, a Special Forces Soldier who was wounded in combat and recognized the need for more comprehensive support for injured Green Berets. In response to the gaps he experienced in the recovery and reintegration process, he founded the Green Beret Foundation in 2009. His goal was to ensure that every Green Beret and their family members in need would have access to timely financial aid, medical resources, and emotional support. Over time, GBF has expanded significantly in scope and reach, evolving into a trusted organization that assists in all phases of service—from deployment and injury to transition and civilian life. Central to the Foundation’s mission are its five core pillars of support. Through its Health & Wellness initiatives, GBF enhances physical and emotional well-being by offering access to evidence-based therapies and treatments such as Stellate Ganglion Block, infrared light therapy, and recovery technologies that promote overall wellness. Within this framework, Task Force Tatanka focuses on strengthening mental health and resilience.
