PATIO SEASON - It gets hot in the summer, but for the glorious spring and fall months, Memphians can be found dining on one of the hundreds of patios that fill our city. Many of the city’s top chefs have created sideby-side restaurants that showcase their fine dining and their down-home approaches to cooking. Check out Chef Kelly English’s flagship high end dining spot Restaurant Iris or enjoy po-boys and New Orleans inspired pub fare at his sister restaurant Second Line – both offer exceptional patios. Across Midtown in Cooper Young, Ryan Trimm’s Sweet Grass offers a Memphis take on South Carolina Low Country fare while his aptly named Next Door restaurant offers some of the city’s best pork nachos and a dish called Dirty Pig Fries. Trimm’s restaurants share a café patio along Cooper Street in front on both restaurants.
