AS A JUNIOR IN 2010-11: Rafert went 13-7 to advance to the Mid-Atlantic/South Regional. He went undefeated against Sacred Heart, UNC tiwice, NYU, and Brandeis. AS A SOHPMORE IN 2009-2010: Rafert posted a 9-9 record in limited action. AS A FRESHMAN IN 2008-2009: Rafert posted a 10-15 record in the saber last year as a part-time starter. He competed at Mid-Atlantic/South Regionals as well. HIGH SCHOOL/PERSONAL: The Milwaukee, Wis. native spent his pre-collegiate career fencing for the Caliburn Fencing Club, the Chicago Athletic Association Fencers Club, and the Oregon Fencing Alliance. Rafert has competed regionally and nationally since 2003. He plans on majoring in History at Penn State.

AS A JUNIOR IN 2010-11: Thompson went 33-33 last year to earn a trip to the Mid-Atlantic/South Regional. He went undefeated against Sacred Heart, Drew, Penn, MIT, and NYU. AS A SOPHOMORE IN 2009-10: In his second season of competitive play Thompson went 33-24. AS A FRESHMAN IN 2008-09: Thompson started all season as a true freshman, going 27-17 in dual meets and taking fourth at Mid-Atlantic/South Regionals. HIGH SCHOOL/PERSONAL: Thompson, like many former Nittany Lions, comes from the famous Oregon Fencing Alliance in Portland, Ore. An outstanding junior fencer, Thompson took second in U17s and 6th in U20s in 2008 and was part of the third place team at Junior Summer Nationals. He is the son of Anne and Roy Thompson, has one sister (Caitlin) and is a business administration major.
