Allied Food Service was founded in the early 1970’s by a local individual. The business has had tremendous growth since its formation and the ownership of the company has changed three times during its tenure. Most recently, Bill Turner and his business partner purchased Allied Food Service in 2003, and then in January 2016, Bill became the sole owner. Bill’s background was in management for larger corporations; however, Bill wanted to own, grow and assist in developing a business that directly impacted his local community.

For the retail customers, Allied has weekly specials that include, Beef and Chicken specials, Pick Five for $19.99 specials, and a Fill Your Freezer package. Allied also keeps the most popular items in stock such as, brunswick stew, BBQ, hamburgers, hotdogs, as well as many other fresh and frozen products. The team at Allied can assist with noncooked catering orders and can provide assistance with serving sizes and quantities.
As President of Allied Food Service, Turner states that the company is a “ wholesale food distributor that predominantly serves restaurants, churches, daycares, convenient stores, hospitals, schools, hotels, and nursing homes. However, we also have a retail area to serve walk in customers and we can order specialty items that are not found in your local grocery stores.”
Allied Food Service has 14 employees that help fulfill the mission of the company by providing excellent products and serving each and every customer with a smile. Currently, Allied employs three salesmen who daily service Rome and the surrounding counties. The remaining 11 employees assist in delivering the products and serving the retail customers, while continuing to perform basic business operations.
