ADIDAS ADICROSS CLASSIC £69.99, ADIDAS.CO.UK Looking more like a tennis shoe from the 1970s, the Adicross Classic is packed with modern day technology to make it the ideal summer golfing shoe. The leather uppers have been treated with a water repellant coating to keep moisture out, while a breathable sockliner helps heat escape. A lightweight, moulded insole provides cushioning and support, while 72 rubber nubs on the sole provide all the grip you need on and off the course. They are available in a choice of six colours for men, including white, black and indigo, while women’s options include coral and chalk white.

CALLAWAY XR SPEED DRIVER £339, CALLAWAYGOLF.COM Callaway’s all-new XR Speed driver is billed as the ‘fastest, hottest and most forgiving’ XR driver ever. Performance boundaries have been pushed with the introduction of a new variable face thickness face, which is lighter and more flexible than any previous design, and generates greater ball speeds and distance across a wider area. The XR Speed features an ultra-light triaxial carbon crown – 45% lighter than the XR 16 titanium crown – to promote high launch and lower spin off the tee and increased MOI. The aerodynamics of the 460cc head have also been enhanced, with a new version of the speed step on the crown reducing air resistance and optimising clubhead speed. The driver is fitted with an adjustable hosel which allows each of the three loft models – 9°, 10.5°, 13.5°HT – to be altered one degree down or two degrees up. It comes with a 45-5-inch Project X HZRDUS shaft as standard. There is a matching set of fairway woods (£229) – 3, 4, 5 and 7 – which feature shallow faces for easy launch, and a new version of the Hyper Speed Face Cup for a combination of distance and forgiveness.
