The meeting was held at the Capital Tower in Thang Phu district and attended by nutritionists, formulators and managers of leading local aquafeed manufacturers. Mr. Didier Arnaud, managing director of Jefo Nutrition Inc. and Mr. Philippe Serene, president of Nutrispices jointly inaugurated the meeting. Mr. Lesley Nernberg, Asian sales and technical support manager of Jefo conducted the technical session where Dr. Kabir Chowdhury, product manager – Aquaculture presented a paper on development of the protease for aquaculture. He discussed 25 years of research and development work with the uniquely heat-stable protease before introducing it to the global aquafeed market. Mr. Herve-Lucien Brun, an international aquaculture expert, presented a paper on practical use and benefits of protease enzyme in aquaculture feeding program where he discussed some of the trials conducted in important aquaculture species and introduced two new protease matrices for shrimp-tilapia and pangasius feeds, respectively. The well-attended meeting and live Q&A afterwards highlighted the growing interests of using protease enzyme in aquafeed to minimize the effects of volatility in quality and price of costly protein feedstuffs. 13/12/13: Event: Cassava World Africa
Cassava is steadily taking the agriculture world by storm as a result of a deficit in global carbohydrate commodities and an ever-increasing population. Although the second most consumed source of carbohydrate in sub-Saharan Africa, Cassava’s industrial potential has been largely unexploited. Organised by the Centre for Management Technology (CMT), Cassava World Africa will focus on the production and processing of this heavily sought after commodity.
