George Drazenovic

Since early 2020, George Drazenovic has been a faculty member at University Canada West (UCW) in Vancouver, BC, where he has taught courses in accounting, finance, entrepreneurship, and corporate strategy. He also served as Chair of Undergraduate Programs for nearly 4 years. Before transitioning into academia, he led several resource ventures in the junior public markets. His areas of specialization include HR management, recruiting, business development, financial reporting, capital budgeting, strategic analysis, regulatory compliance, capital markets, and investment valuation. He started at UCW as an instructor in the MBA program and later advanced to Associate Professor. In 2021, he was appointed Chair and reported directly to the VP of Academics. During his leadership, student enrollment and faculty numbers grew by more than 10 times, culminating in December 2024. He was responsible for curriculum development, governance, industry collaboration, strategic planning, and regulatory oversight for undergraduate studies. His work covered three major programs: the Associate of Arts, the Bachelor of Commerce (ACBSP-accredited), and the Bachelor of Arts in Business Communications. These programs served approximately 5,500 students and involved over 200 faculty members. He was an active voting member on several committees, including the Senate, Curriculum, Governance, Admissions Appeals, and Quality Assurance. He led the consent renewal for all programs and introduced or revised many courses. George Drazenovic established new academic leadership roles, improved faculty structures, and implemented initiatives that enhanced educational quality and student outcomes. He led curriculum alignment with CPA Western School of Business and added technology-focused, certification-based courses to support career readiness. He also oversaw curriculum modernization, operational streamlining, and a shift to a new learning management system.
