Honors Program

The Friends University Honors Program is a community of highly motivated and academically adventurous students dedicated to attaining high levels of integration and achievement within their fields of study. Admission to the program begins during the student’s first year at the University and requires entering students to have a high school GPA of 3.5 or higher and an ACT score of 25 or higher. Thereafter, students must maintain that grade level while completing six credit hours of Honors Seminar, an interdisciplinary, discussion-based course in which numerous interconnected topics are closely examined, as well as completing an Honors Senior Project, a demanding work of research that is, at its conclusion, presented to the University community. The students who complete this full program are recognized as Honors Graduates with Distinction. Members are recognized by their purple and gold cords.
