Childcare centre complete CONSTRUCTION has finished on a new $6 million childcare facility in Langwarrin. The centre at 60 Aqueduct Road will have the capacity for 76 children. The single level centre is 2320 square metres with a 916 square metre outdoor play area. The building was funded by Banner Asset Management and built by Bensons Property Group. Trees on sale CHRISTMAS trees will be on sale at the Baden Powell Scout Hall this year. The Baden Powell Park Scout Group (pictured below) has restarted the program after a two-year hiatus. It will be selling trees on the weekends of 2 and 3 December, and 9 and 10 December. Trees are on sale at the scout hall on the corner of Baden Powell Drive and Humphries Road, and from Bunnings Frankston. Prices range from $70 to $130. Money raised goes towards the Baden Powell Park Scouts.

Christmas lights show THE annual Christmas Festival of Lights returns to Frankston this weekend. The 25th edition of the Christmas event kicks off on Davey Street at 5pm on Saturday, 25 November. The event will feature live music, food, a PAW Patrol live show, a market, rides, fireworks, and an appearance from Santa. Frankston mayor Nathan Conroy said “there’s a lot to celebrate this year, as we mark our 25th year of the Christmas Festival of Lights. It’s a much-loved event for locals and visitors alike, with activities and performances for all ages.”

Fete raises funds THE High Street Uniting Church in Frankston will host a fete next month to raise money for its outreach programs. The church’s annual Christmas fete will run from 9am to 1pm on 9 December. It will feature a Christmas raffle, homemade jams, pickles, and cakes, hand-crafted goods, Christmas gifts, books, and more. The High Street Uniting Church is based at 16-18 High Street in Frankston.
