Elderly veteran attacked POLICE are continuing to investigate the assault of an 83-year-old man in Frankston North last year. On 24 September last year, the military veteran was attacked by two men while walking along Moreton Street. He suffered a fractured vertebrae and bleeding on the brain. The assault victim has since been released from hospital and has reported the attack to police. Investigators have asked anyone with dashcam footage or information to come forward. Police officers injured A MAN who allegedly assaulted police officers in Frankston’s Bayside Shopping Centre last week has been arrested. Police allege that a man at the shopping centre was “behaving erratically”. After police showed up, the man allegedly assaulted them. Two police officers were injured, with one taken to hospital with minor injuries. Police have charged the 35-year-old Beaconsfield Upper man with assaulting police and committing offences whilst on bail. He was remanded to appear at the Melbourne Magistrates Court.
