SOLITAIRE Hoodie, balaclava: The men police wish to talk to regarding the Cranbourne Rd 7-Eleven robbery.

Gun, sledgehammer used in robbery THREE men in a black Kia Soul wagon used a handgun and a sledgehammer to rob the 7-eleven store in Cranbourne Rd, Frankston, 5.20am, Sunday 3 July. Two men entered the store with the weapons, Detective Sergeant Al Hanson, of Frankston CIU, said, while the driver waited outside. The man with the handgun approached the counter, pointed it directly at the attendant and demanded money. The second man then smashed the glass counter top with the sledgehammer and demanded cigarettes. The attendant handed over cash and cigarettes and the men ran outside, jumped in the car, and were driven away. Anyone who has information is urged to call Detective Hanson, 9784 5590.

Boy, 12, behind the wheel STARTLED bystanders dialled Triple 000 when they saw a 12-year-old boy driving a Ford Ranger utility along Cranbourne Rd, Frankston, 3.30pm, Saturday 2 July. The Seaford boy – who “could hardly see over the steering wheel” – ran three red lights putting himself and other road users in danger. The car was later found dumped in Nepean Hwy, Seaford. Detective Acting Sergeant Ryan Collins, of Frankston CIU, said the boy was remanded in custody Monday night and later charged with theft of a motor car and conduct endangering serious injury. He was bailed to appear at a children’s court next month. His 14-year-old passenger was also charged with theft of a motor car, as well as committing an indictable offence while on bail. He appeared at a children’s court Wednesday morning and was remanded to appear at a later date.

Bail on robbery charges A FRANKSTON man has been charged with robbery and attempted robbery after demanding money at two Frankston stores, Thursday 30 June. The man, 29, is alleged to have entered a photography business in the Bayside shopping centre

and demanded cash, saying he was carrying a gun. When the shop assistant said no cash was kept on the premises as customers paid by credit card, the man left. The man is then alleged to have entered a bakery in Young St and demanded cash, again saying he was carrying a gun. He was allegedly given $200 before walking off north along Young St. The man was bailed to appear at Frankston Magistrates’ Court in September.

A MAN was taken to Frankston hospital with spinal injuries last week after the car in which he was a passenger crashed while allegedly speeding away from police, Monday 4 July. Frankston’s CIU Sergeant Duncan McGorrory, of the Shadow Taskforce, said the man and a woman, known to police, were spotted in a stolen Holden Calais in Skye Rd, Frankston, 3pm. The woman, 29, of no fixed address, who was driving, was already on bail on theft of motor car charges. When police jumped out to intercept the pair, they sped off and turned sharply onto the wrong side of Karingal Drive before crashing into a parked car. The man, 24, of no fixed address, was not wearing a seat belt. He was thrown head first into the windscreen, receiving spinal injuries. Arrested at the scene, the woman was charged with theft of a motor car, evading police, and conduct endangering life. She was remanded to appear at Frankston Magistrates’ Court on 30 August. The man was charged with theft of a motor car, possessing a quantity of the drug ice, and various traffic offences, and remanded to appear on the same date.
