Nightly News For John Berryman, Henry, the eminent Dr. Bones “A satellite circled striated Jupiter from a quarter-million miles away and sent back photos technicians will splice together to study the planet’s composition. It is speculated that Earth’s atmosphere was similar in its early stages, but we know virtually nothing about this largest planet, only that it has thirteen moons and, just south of its equator, a mysterious red blotch three times the circumference of Earth. “Closer to home, a Portage farmer, a ‘quiet family man with no financial problems and an outstanding work record,’ shotgunned his wife and sons last night, then turned the gun on himself. He had been despondent lately, ‘sick to death of winter. All we can figure out,’ intoned the coroner, ‘is that the weather was getting him down.’ “Also yesterday, authorities made official the death of young Chester Metcalfe, who ‘clung precariously to life,’ battled irreversible brain damage more than two days after being discovered frozen in a snowbank. There was no visible evidence of a struggle or injury.” All of these investigators and scientists puzzled
