hen the homeowner first purchased this home only a few years ago, the existing design and layout didn't quite match her taste. As you look at the "before photos", you'll see why; this home was the epitome of dark and dated—its walls felt like they were closing in and the overall design lacked any personality. The homeowner tasked Kristen Carlson of Studio Rogue Design with the challenge of creating a new kitchen and living room space that effortlessly mixed functionality, a sense of airiness, and charm. The homeowner's main goal for the design was to have a space that she loved coming home to; a space that reflected her personality that also functioned better for her lifestyle.
