FERNDALE AREA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE

(FACC)’S MISSION is to champion the growth of industry and foster community through leadership and collaboration. The Chamber provides companies with opportunities to network and grow the overall business climate in Ferndale and surrounding areas, while advocating for its 240 active members.

“There is a common misconception that the sole purpose of the Chamber is for networking opportunities; networking is only a very small piece of the equation,” said FACC Director Joy Wells. “The Chamber has many resources available to assist with compliance, operational solutions, and even professional development opportunities.” Membership benefits also include group purchasing power, marketing tools, and discounts on goods and services.

As a liaison between the City and the business community, FACC sponsors many events around town, including the annual Rainbow Run 5K and those held in collaboration with public safety departments, and coffee meet-and-greets. “Under new direction, the FACC is also launching new

CHAIR AND OWNER OF LAKEPOINTE CONSTRUCTION, has been involved in local chambers for more than a decade. He said the purpose of his current position is to promote the FACC by being a point person for residents and business owners to come to with questions or concerns. He explained, “It’s important for the Chamber to stay visible in the community, and I promote this visibility.” Vigliarolo can attest firsthand to how membership helps to expand small business. “Being a Chamber member can open a lot of doors,” he said. “Businesses can promote their products and what they do. There are plenty of volunteer opportunities and it’s all about staying active in the community. You are the value of your Chamber membership.” Vigliarolo added that FACC referrals tend to be more dependable, saying, “I find that a referral coming from a Chamber is solid.” “Eighty percent of decision makers are more likely to purchase goods and services from Chamber members as it relays a sense of community engagement and overall credibility,” Wells added.
