What’s up! We’re excited to be here with Zeke Brock, a junior at Cape Fear Christian Academy, what do you want FAYNC to know about what basketball means to you? It’s a blessing to have the amount of talent that I have and to be able to play at the level I am. Basketball is life

What type of conditioning, training and dedication is required to be ranked as a top leading scorer in the state?

I have been playing with a basketball since I was 2 years old. My dad played basketball and always had me in the gym with him, so I’ve always loved to play with a basketball. I dedicated myself to the game as soon as I could dribble the ball. I am constantly in the gym working on my skill set. I play on a someone’s team year round. I am normally the first one at the gym and last one to leave at the end.

Growing up, who was your favorite basketball player?

Is he still your favorite player and do you model your style after him?

I have been playing with a basketball since I was 2 years old. My dad played basketball and always had me in the gym with him, so I’ve always loved to play with a basketball. I dedicated myself to the game as soon as I could dribble the ball. I am constantly in the gym working on my skill set. I play on a someone’s team year round. I am normally the first one at the gym and last one to leave at the end.

Now before we talk about the unbelievable numbers you’re putting up. Let’s backtrack for a second. Last year as a sophomore you led the state, averaging 10 assists per game. That’s wild! Tell me about the dynamics of that season in comparison to this one. Last year I played with a lot of upper class man who were a more experienced team and all I had to do was feed them the ball. This year my team is young. They are still learning and mastering their skills. Still becoming familiar with the game, so As the point guard my job is to lead my team. To be whatever it is they need me to be. By assisting in the points or making them.

Alright, now let’s get into these stats. Currently you’re averaging 34.6 points per game, 2.7 assist and shooting 55% from the FG. I want to throw out some of your highest scoring games for the people that don’t know. 41, 44, 48 and 51! What happened between your sophomore year and junior year that allowed you to evolve from top-ranked assist into top-ranked scorer?

I’ve always been a good shooter but I like to keep my team mates involved and having fun. My role is just revised in what is needed this year from what was needed last year.

Lastly, describe to the people what they can expect to see from you in the upcoming season? The energy you bring and the evolution of your game as you continue to grow. I plan to be the best. I strive for it everyday. You can expect me to be me, playing the game that I love and being the best that I can be.
