CONGRATULATIONS Help us congratulate the following GreenSeam Awardees who have demonstrated acts of entrepreneurship, along with a commitment to their community through service, volunteerism or partnerships. The GreenSeam Awards, which consist of the Seamed in Success and Growing in the GreenSeam awards, have been established to honor businesses or organizations that have contributed to the betterment of life in southern Minnesota and northern Iowa by creating jobs or development opportunities for employees.
SEAMED IN SUCCESS B.E.S.T. OF WASECA – WASECA VISION 2030 B.E.S.T. of Waseca-Waseca Vision 2030 has been awarded the Seamed in Success Award, which recognizes the immense impact and contribution to the region while emphasizing the importance of agriculture. B.E.S.T. of Waseca – Waseca Vision 2030 holds a partnership with the City of Waseca, Waseca County and others. The organization is a collaborative leadership group, containing members from the City of Waseca Economic Development Authority, Waseca Development Corporation, Waseca County Economic Development Authority, Waseca Area Chamber of Commerce, and cities of Janesville, Waldorf and New Richland. The organization aspires to advance, support, and promote economic development. With a forward-thinking mind, they hired Future IQ, a consulting and research company, specializing in foresight and scenario-based strategic planning. From this, they were able to collect 567 surveys from the community. The overwhelming response concluded that economic development in Waseca should leverage the agricultural assets of the community, not only to build the economy but to gain and retain young people. In the future, the organization hopes to convene ag businesses in hopes of building partnerships with researchers in ag and biotech for practical applications and development purposes. Partnerships will grow with higher education for training programs and with the regional ag supply chain to expand business connectivity.
