ARE YOU THE NEXT FAMILY TO BE ON OUR FAMILIES MAGAZINE FRONT COVER? We are looking for a family photo to be the front cover of our Families Magazine April/May 2020 issue. Could your family, or a family you know, be on our next front cover and seen on 40,000 copies across Brisbane? We are asking local families and photographers to email a family photo for us to consider. THE DETAILS: • The photo must be portrait in shape • The photo must have room at the top for our logo • The photo must have room at the bottom for an advert or banner • The photo must be in high resolution (minimum 300 dpi, A4 page) which basically means the original photo from the camera. • The photo doesn’t have to be from a professional photographer • Professional photographers are welcome to enter • All photos become our property and we may use them in future issues, but we will never use them without the owner’s written permission • You don’t have to like our Facebook page – but it’s the clever resource for thinking parents – just like our print magazine! EARTH HOUR 2020 HARRY POTTER BOOK NIGHT – THURSDAY FEB 6
On Thursday 6 February, Harry Potter fans from around the world will once again celebrate Harry Potter book night. Libraries across Brisbane are taking part with their own magical Harry Potter events, ideal for children aged 5-15 years. The event is free to attend but bookings are required. On Saturday March 29 at 8:30pm, people and businesses around the world will turn off their non-essential lights and appliances for one hour in support of World Wide Fund for Nature’s (WWF) Earth Hour. Earth Hour began in Sydney in 2007 as a way to spark conversation about what we can do to combat environmental issues and protect our planet. It has since grown to be a global phenomenon. Schools are invited to participate on Friday March 27, with educational activities and resources available to download online. See www.earthhour.org.au for further details and educational resources.
