Inner City Learning Center Hosts Spring Fundraiser

The Huntsville Inner City Learning Center (HICLC) hosted its 2nd Annual Spring Fundraiser Dinner at the Huntsville Botanical Garden on April 29. Grille on Main catered the event for over 220 attendees.

HICLC is a non-profit organization with the mission, “To grow our students into Christ-like, life-long learners, and responsible citizens through after-school programs focusing on Biblical knowledge, mentorship and academic support.”

The annual dinner represents the highwater mark for HICLC’s fundraising. It also provided the organization an opportunity to thank their donors and to share some wonderful personal stories from thei r children.

The family of Mr. Art Leslie, the HICLC Founder and first Executive Director, were special guests. Guest speaker was Dr. Rica McRoy, author and optometrist. Mr. Curtis Coghlan, HICLC Executive Director, was the keynote speaker with the theme of “Making an Impact…For Life.”

Attendees enjoyed music by the Twickenham Church of Christ Praise Team and videos created by AVO Multimedia Services. The organizers extended a special thanks to their many sponsors and supporters that enabled them to meet their fundraising goal. n
