In cooperation with the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture, Lancaster County Office of Aging will begin distributing 2022 Farmers Market Nutrition Program vouchers to eligible persons in June at local senior centers. The nutrition vouchers can be exchanged for Pennsylvaniagrown fruits and vegetables through November at participating farmers markets and roadside stands.

To be eligible, an individual must be at least age 60, reside in Lancaster County, and have an annual household income of less than $25,142 for one person or less than $33,874 for two people. Those living in nursing homes or other residential facilities where meals are provided are not eligible for this program.

Persons unable to pick up the vouchers may have a representative pick up vouchers on their behalf, but a completed, signed application form will need to be presented at the time of distribution. A 2022 application is posted at www.lancoaging.org. To receive an application by mail or email, contact any Lancaster County Office of Aging at 717-299-7979 or any senior center listed below.

Farmers market vouchers will be distributed at all locations from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Distribution will take place on Tuesday, June 14, at SACA Senior Center, 545 Pershing Ave., Lancaster, 717-295-7989, and Elizabethtown Area Senior Center, 70 S. Poplar St., Elizabethtown, 717-367-7984; on Wednesday, June 15, at Lancaster Neighborhood Senior Center, 33 E. Farnum St., Lancaster, 717-299-3943, as well as Lancaster Rec Commission Senior Center, 525 Fairview Ave., Lancaster, 717-399-7671, and Next Generations/Solanco Senior Center, 184 S. Lime St., Quarryville, 717-786-4770; on Thursday, June 16, at Lititz Senior Center, 201 E. Market St., Lititz, 717-626-2800; on Monday, June 20, at Millersville Senior Center, 222 N. George St., Millersville, 717871-9600; and on Wednesday, June 22, at Columbia Senior Center, 510 Walnut St., Columbia, 717-684-4850, and Ephrata Rec Center, 130 S. Academy Drive, Ephrata.

SCHEDULE FOR FREE VACCINES

“Royal Wedding Music” Concert Scheduled

“Royal Wedding Music,” the First Friday organ concert, will take place on Friday, June 3, at 8 p.m. in the historic 1854 First Reformed Church, 40 E. Orange St., Lancaster. Organist Larry Hershey will return to the console of the vintage 1958 analog Allen organ to perform a 30-minute concert. Flutist Darlene Way will join Hershey during the concert. Doors will open at 7:30 p.m.
