Grey seals can be 2.6 metres long and can weigh 300 kilograms. They can live up to 40 years. Seals spend a lot of time in the water to fish. They return to land to rest and to have pups. Seals and seal pups are cute but they are predators and can bite! The seal population in the world is not in danger. But a great threat for individuals are human activities.

The coasts of England • Scotland are the best places to watch sea otters. Sea otters can be 1.5 metres long and can weigh 35 • 45 kilograms. They can live up to 23 • 32 years. They’ve got webbed feet and water-repellent fur. Sea otters often swim • run on their back. In the water they can sleep and eat • drink Sea otters have pups in the water. They are very intelligent animals and use stones to open shellfish.

Sea otters are at great risk of extinction. Their threats are pollution and fishing nets.
