The majority of academics in the UK (73%) and in Italy (66%) were of this opinion. In Ireland, over two thirds of respondents (65%) believed that there was collegiality and participation in decision-making processes within their institutions. Over half of participants (51%) viewed the non-involvement of staff in decision-making as a real problem in the work environment. Chart 54 illustrates the data. Two thirds of academics in the UK (68%) and Denmark (67%) held this view and over three fifths of academics in Germany (61%) considered this to be a real issue. Academics in Ireland (57%) did not hold this view.
