Misinformation, Disinformation and Maskirovka: Information and Technology Literacy in the Age of Fake News Abstract: We are now living in a participatory culture, when anyone who has Internet access can share information. News can be hyperlocal or come from across the world. For many, the participatory culture is new. What we taught as information literacy five or ten years ago does not meet the needs of our current reality. We’ll explore the challenges and opportunities of our current information climate.
