Teachers’ Choice Fund

Our Fund for the Future is a special portion of the Gala, where funds raised are dedicated to a specific need for EB. This year, as part of our virtual night of community and fundraising—EB en Fête—the $27,250 generously contributed by our community of families, teachers, and alumni, was allocated to the Teachers’ Choice Fund, to help our educators create additional engaging, memorable experiences for their students.

The Teachers’ Choice Fund gives teachers the opportunity to pursue any type of project, activity, or outing that fosters a love of learning for their students. The idea is to give teachers agency and the means to do something they like, to then inspire their students in the classroom! Keeping kids motivated and curious inside and outside the classroom can be challenging, especially in a pandemic. Giving teachers the funds to design an impactful experiential learning program is instrumental in cultivating a productive learning environment. Students are more motivated when they have opportunities to grow and explore science, math, language and reading in unique and alternative ways. Teachers are able to use these funds to create programming that inspires their students, while aligning with EB’s rigorous, bilingual curriculum. Teachers planned to integrate activities such as cooking, creating and binding books of short stories written by their students, and using coding software to solve a problem. Every teacher offers a different perspective, opening our students to a world of possibilities.
