The multi-award winning Taronga Western Plains Zoo is renowned for its breeding programs, such as the Black Rhino Conservation Program, but did you know it’s also playing a part in the conservation of corals in the Great Barrier Reef?

WHAT ARE THE ZOO OPENING TIMES? The Zoo is open every day of the year 9am - 4pm (gates open 8.30am during NSW school holidays). HOW FAR IS THE ZOO FROM DUBBO’S CBD? Five minutes’ drive, or 5km walk/bike ride. IS THERE PUBLIC TRANSPORT TO THE ZOO? • Yes, there is a public bus service from Dubbo to the Zoo • You can also catch a taxi or hire a car. WHAT CAN I DO AT THE ZOO? • Don’t miss the all new Lion Pride Lands exhibit, home to eight African Lions • Daily Keeper Presentations (included in admission) • Early Morning Walks, Animal Encounters and Tours including the new Lion Pride Lands Patrol (cost in addition to Zoo entry) • Free Savannah Visitor Plaza with information, shop, playground and cafe overlooking Savannah Lake and Spider Monkeys • Stay the night at one of three award winning experiences. HOW DO I GET AROUND THE ZOO? With 5.5km of sealed road and plenty of walking trails, you can hire push bikes or electric carts, bring your own bike, walk or drive your own car. HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE?

The experience can be as long or short as you like. Tickets are valid for two consecutive days (second day free) – you can leave and enter the Zoo as much as you wish during opening hours. WHAT’S ON THE MENU? • Dine in at Bakhita’s Cafe in the Savannah Visitor Plaza, or take away options are available from Bakhita’s To Go and the Midway Kiosk. • The Zoo has free BBQs and picnic areas. I AM TRAVELLING WITH MY PET, CAN WE ENTER THE PREMISES? Domestic pets are prohibited from entering the Zoo. Pet friendly options are available in Dubbo. CAN I STAY OVERNIGHT? The Zoo offers three accommodation options: • Billabong Camp – bush camping experience • Zoofari Lodge – private African safari style experience
