704 Medieval Silver Inscribed Clasped Hands Betrothal Ring Circa 14th-15th century AD. A silver fede ring with segmented hoop and ‘clasped hands’ motif on the bezel; at the wrists the texts ‘Amore’ and ‘Gorefe’ in blackletter script. Silver, 4.81 grams, 22.5 mm overall (approximate size British P 1/2, USA 7 3/4, Europe 16.86, Japan 16). 705 Medieval Silver Clasped Hands Ring Circa 12th-15th century AD. A silver finger ring formed as a D-section hoop and flattened bezel in the form of a pair of stylised clasped hands. Silver, 1.88 grams, 19 mm overall (approximate size British K 1/2, USA 5 1/2, Europe 11.0, Japan 11). Very fine condition. £300 - 500 EUR 340 - 560 USD 500 - 830 Property of a Gentleman. The fede or clasped hands motif was popular on finger rings from Roman times through to the modern period.
