Dr. Marlow Hernandez
Dr. Marlow Hernandez is a physician-executive with over 15 years of experience in value-based care. He has worked to combine frontline medicine with system leadership, building healthcare models that improve measurable outcomes for hundreds of thousands of patients across the United States. His approach centers on expanding access and strengthening care delivery at scale. Hernandez's guiding belief is direct: “We do not turn patients away.” With this principle, he has developed organizations that combine primary care, specialty services, and advanced analytics to deliver proactive, personalized treatment. He relies on data as a clinical tool, using it to identify patient risk and intervene early, particularly for underserved populations. Born in Cienfuegos, Cuba, and raised in the Miami area, Dr. Marlow immigrated to the United States in 1993. As a child, he observed the effects of fragmented healthcare through his grandmother’s struggle with complicated diabetes. At five years old, he promised he would become a physician and help her. That promise later evolved into a mission to improve healthcare systems for entire communities. He earned a Bachelor’s in Neuroscience from the University of Miami and a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from Nova Southeastern University. He completed his training at Cleveland Clinic Florida and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine, a Diplomate of the American Board of Venous & Lymphatic Medicine, and a Fellow of the American College of Physicians (FACP). Marlow Hernandez's combined DO, MPH, and MBA training led him to found a healthcare organization that expanded from a single clinic into a $3 billion revenue platform serving 400,000 members. Under his leadership, it became the fastest-growing primary care network in the U.S. for two consecutive years, according to Inc. magazine. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the organization achieved a sustained 60% reduction in patient mortality, findings published in the American Journal of Managed Care (AJMC).
