In Japanese, “manga” refers to all kinds of cartooning, comics and animation. It’s hand drawn and people of all ages especially teenagers love reading it. The first ever manga was drawn in 1902 by Hokusai Katsushika in which he sketched scenes from daily life. A manga artist is known as ‘manga-ka’ , and these manga-kas are so talented that sometimes it’s hard to believe the art work they produced is hand drawn. The artwork of Kentaro Miura who is known for his famous manga series ’Berserk’ has one of the best artstyle in manga history.

The Junji Ito Collection

The manga-ka of this series, Junji Ito, is a rather sweet looking person whose art style is nowhere near his own vibe, being truly frightening. The immense details in the art style makes it so that it is beautiful, eye-catching, and scary at the same time. His most impactful work is ‘Uzumaki’ which centres around a small town haunted not by spirits but spirals.

If you are a JoJo fan you probably already know the sheer number of memes that were created from this series. JoJo’s Bizarre Adventures, as the name suggests, is one of the most unusual and quirky manga series ever created. Drawn by Hirohito Araki, starting in 1980 and still going on, the manga is known for its art style and poses which are alluring and exaggerated. This art style is so famous that a lot of Mangas these days comically reference it from time to time
