Bihu Dancers Of Dbs Rangajan

Celebration of culture is an important aspect of educational curriculum. Last 14th May 2016 was a red-letter day in the annals of Don Bosco Rangajan (Assam) when it hosted colourful Bihu Dance competitions. The competitions commenced at 9.45 am. At the outset, Fr. Pampackal Joseph, in charge and administrator, welcomed the chief guest and other dignitaries with the traditional Assamese gamusa on behalf of the institution. The students were divided into three groups : (1) Sub-juniors: classes Nursery and K.G, (2) Juniors: classes 1 to 4 and (3) Seniors: classes 6 to 10. On this beautiful occasion, Mr. Gojen Tosha, chairman of cooperative society, Rangajan circle, Golaghat was the chief guest. He highly appreciated the institution for this great step for promoting Bihu dance and creating awareness among youngsters to preserve their unique identity. group cl. IX wrested the first position, cl. X the second position while cl. VI occupied third position. This colourful event ended with two special items presented by the parents and the teaching staff that made the day more meaningful and memorable. Fr. D. D. Manohar, Headmaster, proposed the vote of thanks and congratulated the staff and the students for their active participation in the day’s gala events with uninhibited zest and zing.
